DECATUR, Ga. – DeKalb County is opening its doors to job seekers with a countywide job fair on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Georgia Piedmont Technical College, located at 495 N. Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston, GA.
DeKalb County’s Office of the CEO announced the event, emphasizing its role in building DeKalb’s future through workforce development.
“This job fair is one of the ways we’re re-imagining DeKalb,” said Cochran-Johnson. “It is one of the ways we are investing in people and helping them thrive.”
The county currently has more than 500 positions available across various departments, with 250 of those vacancies in public safety roles, including police, fire, and emergency services. County representatives will conduct on-site interviews, and qualified candidates may receive same-day job offers.
The hiring event will also feature Grady Memorial Hospital, Emory University, and the Georgia Department of Public Health, who will be on-site to recruit talent for healthcare and public health opportunities.
DeKalb County encourages all to attend, including residents recently impacted by federal layoffs, those from the CDC and VA, to attend and explore new opportunities across public service, healthcare, and technical fields.
The event is part of DeKalb’s broader workforce development strategy, a key initiative highlighted during CEO Lorainne Cochran-Johnson’s recent State of the County address, underscoring the county’s commitment to building a model of community-focused governance while preparing a strong workforce for the future.
Job seekers can explore opportunities in various fields, including engineering, sanitation, customer service, parks and recreation, finance, and public health.
